From The Beginning

We talked about kids and how many we wanted.

We were married on June 09, 2001.

We had a wonderful wedding, it was all exciting and the day flew by. Shortly after we were on a bus heading out to Tennessee to visit some of his family & for me to meet them for the first time. I would not call this our Honeymoon, we never have had one of those actually.

At the time we did not have our own car, his father was going to give us one while we were visiting him, so we would drive back home. It was quiet out where his father lived. I got to get a small glimpse into parts of Daniel’s life.

While away we did not try to prevent becoming pregnant, even though in less than 2 months he would be shipped off on a 6 month deployment overseas. That is about how much thought was put into it then. It was exciting because it “could” happen.

While we were there I got to meet some of his cousins, one whom was pregnant. She joked about drinking the water in town, that everyone was getting pregnant from it. At one point I was feeling off & we thought we might be pregnant.

I took a pregnancy test, we both swore it was a very faint positive. Took one again a day later and it was not the same result. What happened. We actually brushed it off kind of joking we were not ready just yet anyways, we wanted to enjoy just each other for a while.

Deployment came and took forever to end it felt. It was very tough on our fresh, new marriage. After being apart for 6 months there was a lot of lovemaking going on. Oddly there never was a hint or a maybe of being pregnant.

The first year did not really count for baby making as we were not really “trying” at that point, plus he was gone for 6 months. It will happen when it happens…right.
